First Kartik Purnima 2023 in Ibaraki, Bando, Sugaya, 54-2
"Kartik Purnima" is an auspicious event and is celebrated all over Bharat for many reasons such as Dev Deepawali, Maha Raas Leela, lord Vishnu's manifestation of Matsya avatar, Tulsi Vivah, lord Kartikeya's Birth ceremony and many more. 'Boita Vandana' setting afloat miniature boita (boats) with candles, is an age-old cultural festival celebrated in the wee hours of Kartik Purnima. The legend is that early merchants sailed to Bali, Borneo, and Sumatra (present-day Indonesia) for overseas trade bringing prosperity to the nation. Today's globalization is truly an expansion of such old maritime practice.
To commemorate this rich and vibrant culture, Shree Jagannath Society Japan together with Shri Ram Mandir Trust is organizing the festival of "Kartik Purnima" on 26th of Nov(Sunday) in the premise of newly inaugurated Mandir at Bando Ibaraki.
